Do you have a shut off valve on the supply line under the toilet tank, if so close it and then disconnect the tube after the valve and before the tank. Now slightly open that valve , have a bowl or bucket to catch any water. Tell us what happened.

Unfortunately, I am not at home to do so. I am at work. I had this problem start last night.

OK when you gt a chance try what I said so we can see if it's the shut off or supply line or it could be a stuck fill valve. I hope that when you flush that black ball drops down, it's a float.

As Bob says close the angle valve under the tank, see the image below and disconnect the supplly line as indicated, and follow his instructions, good luck.

Shut the water off to the tank and open the lid. Remove the three screws on top of the ballcock and pull the stem and float ball assembly up . Polace a pan over the open ballcock and turn the water back on. Is there a strong stream coming out? If not tell me about it. Tom
