I would like too know how too wire to lights of which were wire in series to one switch, and now I have bought a combination device so I can have each light go on separately. The two lights are wired up together and off one of the lights is a wire going to the switch. Also the switch has the wires coming from power... I thought this would be easy but now I'm lost.!.

Notice that the two switch combination device has the two screws on one side connected with a metal tab.

Replace the wire between the switch and the light with 3-wire cable of the same size as is currently being used.

Connect neutral (white) of the hot cable to the neutral of the 3-wire cable. Connect the black of the hot cable to the side with the two screws connected with the metal tab. Connect the black and the red of the 3-wire cable to the two screws on the other side of the switch.

At the first light, connect all the white wires together. Connect the black to the black of the light. Connect the red to the black of the cable going to the other light.

Another way would be to remove the cable between the two lights. Run a new 2-wire cable from the switch to the second light. At the switch box, connect all the white wires together. Connect the black of the hot cable to the side with the tab between the screws and connect the blacks of the cables going to each light to the other side.
