My pitbull Nina delivered 6 Puppies on 10/25/06 5 Of them are doing well the runt is not doing to well he is a lot smaller than the other puppies very weak and constantly crying, and or whining while sleeping. I have been bottle feeding him Esbilac but he does not drink much. I'm worried about the runt he's so tiny I don't know if he'll make it. Any suggestion?

Only a vet can answer but let me tell you that my pomeranian was a runt, he's 3 1/2 yrs old now and doing great.

My runt is 2 days old he's very fragile and weak, I hope he's as lucky as your pomeranian was. Thank you very much for your feedback.

Yes, check with your vet. I wish people would do some research before breeding dogs rather than getting into trouble and looking for help.

And I wish that people wouldn't make these "helpful" web-sites for others when they really don't know what they're dealing with themselves. Theirs more to be said than "check with your vet". That's the obvious. I'm just looking for more incite. If you feel like you can't give any positive incite, you shouldn't comment back at all. These web-sites are to help people that have questions about their pets. Not for sarcasm.

I think, and I could be wrong here, but I don't think anyone has been the least bit sarcastic with you. I do, however, think that you should reevaluate your priorities when it comes to your pet.

As you posted:

Does that mean that you wish to receive only suggestions from licensed veterinarians? I understood it to mean that you requested ANY suggestions. That is what you received.

That said, you received (in my opinion), a VERY good suggestion. You should absolutely take the whole crew, mama and puppies, to the vet. Waiting for more insight could be fatal to the young one in question.

Oh, and you should spay mama as soon as it is feasible.

*Edit* I should also add that I noticed another poster suggest veterinary care and your reaction was positive.
Those of us that post here regularly do it in our own time for no money. We simply wish to be helpful to others with what knowledge, limited or not, that we have.
The fact that your question brought only an answer of "go to your vet", should tell you something.

I sugest that you should be cafefull that he does not jump off thing too much but that you play a lot with him and get it to run around more than the others as he grows. This will make him stronger. If you find any other problems I suggest you take him to a vet to make sure he is getting his nutrition. Make sure he eats a lot and gets his excersize!

Make sure the puppy is staying warm enough. If they get a chill there is almost no chance for survival. I had a litter that I had to keep the smallest puppy in a brooder for the 10 days.

Sorry for the misspelling I'm typing in the dark

I came here for help... thank you for MOST of you. I feel there is NO need to be rude. Esp. when we are only trying to help. Rude people need to keep their RUDE mouths SHUT. I hope your runt survive just like mine... and I am NOT a breeder just a helpful friend. I want to slap some of these people. Good luck for the ones in my position!
