I just had my basement waterproofed after 5 years of spring flooding. I used Everdry to do the work (any comments on Everdry?). Before Everdry did the work, we completely stripped the basement of paneling, etc. to get to the bare cinderblocks. All the work has been done, and I completely scrubbed all the cinderblock walls, washed, etc. and DryLocked it all.
I'm now ready to start rebuilding. My first thing is, what do I do to finish the cinderblocks? When I bought the house, the basement was finished with paneling. It was either glued on, or studs were nailed to the cinderblocks and the paneling nailed to the studs. I'd like to rebuild the same layout (left all the wall studs, etc.) and I want to panel the rooms in, including on the cinderblock walls. Is paneling a good idea on Cinderblock? If so, what's the best approach? Should I insulate cinderblocks?
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
