How do I calculate the future value of the following:

$5,000 compounded annually at 6% for 5 years
$5,000 compounded semiannually at 6% for 5 years
$5,000 compounded quarterly at 6% for 5 years
$5,000 compounded annually at 6% for 6 years

Pease help me, I want to know the process of solving this problem :o

$7,000 in 5 years at an annual discount rate of 6%
$7,000 in 5 years at a semiannual discount rate of 6%
$7,000 in 5 years at a quarterly discount rate of 6%
$7,000 in 6 years at an annual discount rate of 6%

I really need to know the process of solving this problem. Thank you very much.

There are four main ways you can be solving these: charts/tables given in your textbook, algebra equations (not a common method), a financial calculator, and Excel. And maybe something else I'm not aware of. (And manually if you want to go to that much trouble.)

It's a whole lot easier to explain them if we know what method you're using, especially since for homework you may be required to use a specific method. The charts are the easiest if you have them and are allowed to use them.
