Hi...

I had 2 separate thermostats for my 2 fam house on 1 boiler. We disconnected the 2nd flr thermostat so it can all be run by the 1st floor thermostat. Of course like everything in this old house, the heat is not going on at all upstairs. Only on the 1st flr. Please help I need to connect it back and I'm clueless. I can't get in touch with the guy who did it for me of course. I need help please.

B'rgds,
Jenny

Were the first and second floor separate zones? That is, did the thermostats open and close valves as well as fire the boiler? If so, a quick fix would be to locate the zone valve for the second floor and manually open it and leave it. That way any time the first floor thermostat called for heat, it would heat the second too. Zone valves will be found after the pipes to the radiators branch off. They will have wires running to them, or at least did.
