I am in the navy stationed in Florida.my wife has been down and thinks she has depression. I tried calling central appointmentsto make an appointment but they said thgey don't deal with mental health. Anyone with some advice or where to turn to would greatly help us both.

Hello s:

It's been a LONG time since I've been in the Navy, but I can't believe mental health services are NOT part of a dependents benefits...

Is there no one in your chain of command who coordinates these things for you?? There must be. I'd visit a Chaplain too. I don't mean see the Chaplain for religious help. I mean to see him because he can tell you how to get the benefits that are due you and your dependents.

PS> Where you at? My ship was at Mayport. DD-781. It's scrap now.

Well its not they aren't available they just manage those appointments through the central appointment line. I don't know of anyone at the command but I'm definitely going to talk to the chaplain about it. I'm stationed at nas jax actually at one of the new hsm squadrons
