Hi,

We installed a new Honeywell Thermostat and now we only get hot air blowing from the vents. We are switching from White-Rodgers. Here's the old wires...
W2 and E = White Wire
O/B = Orange
R = Red
L = Nothing
G = Green
C = Blue
Y = Yellow

On the new thermostat we have Y, G, Rh, Rc and W. Rh and Rc have a jumper. We tried the following:

Y = Yellow
G = Green
Rh and Rc = Red
W = White

We would appreciate any help. It's currently about 90 degrees here.

Thanks,

Ashley

Thermostat won't work. You have a heat pump. I don't see a W or W1, so it's probably single stage.

Its sounds as if you are replacing a heat pump tstat with a gas/oil tstat. The O terminal on the old stat reverses the valve in the outdoor unit from heat to cool or vice versa. Also check to see if a wire was hooked up to w and e. W is the heat using the outdoor unit and e is for emergency heat (electric heat strips) inside air handler. If you have a heat pump you will need to return this stat and buy one that is for heat pump use. Also make sure you turn the power off to the unit before removing or replacing. All newer units have a fuse on the circuit board that is easily blown if two many wires are touched together.
