Hi, jkjallo!

I can think of lots of ways that a person can work under pressure working at an elementary school. Before addressing that subject though, I would appreciate knowing from you as to why you've posted the question, please?

Thanks!

Being an elementary school teacher is the definition of working under pressure. You just do it and do it well! If you can't handle it, then get out. We are the shapers of the future.

Every job requires that you work under some sort of pressure. As a teacher, staying organized keeps you one step ahead. So, a portion of the pressure will be under control. Utilize teachers with more experience and wisdom to help you get through the difficult times. Good luck!

Every job has pressure.

You just do it. You find a solution that works for you and you use it.

No one can tell you what to do, it all depends on you and what you consider pressure.

Come to class prepared and stay focused and keep control in the classroom at all times.

Knowing that you are in charge and having the rules made clear to your students is important.

They must be aware of the consequences of unacceptable behavior and you must follow through.

You can implement a special way to get attention if the kids get rowdy.

Turning down the lights.
Ringing a bell.

Make sure they know what the signal means.

It is a very daunting task when you first stand in front of a group of young anxious minds!

It can feel overwhelming.

Practice and routine are very important, for you and your students.

You both gain security from it.

It gets easier as time passes but you need to establish your authority from day one.
