Is it legal for your boss to transfer you to another workplace even if you did not agree to it? It is not a promotion, it is just a lateral transfer.

Plus, there's no specific reason on the transfer. My boss just keeps on saying that I need to get out of my comfort zone. More so, he doesn't talk to me directly about it and just tells everybody about it.

Please help... I need an urgent response.

He is your boss and if he wants to transfer you to another office then he can do that. Just like any other job. They can do what they want with you as long as they are paying you. If you don't like it you can quit and get another job or just put up with it anyway. Have you tried talking to him directly and seeing if there is anyway possible to stick around?

As for it being legal, yes it is, unless you're being transferred to a job that requires some sort of special license or certificate which you don't possess. Now, if you don't agree with the move and your boss is being vague with you as to the reasons for it, perhaps you could sit down with your boss at a pre-arranged time and place and discuss your concerns with him and give him a chance to discuss his. Be honest and upfront but not defensive and encourage your boss to do the same. That might clear up a lot of issues.

100% Legal for your boss. You work for the company not for a special place. Company has the right to do this, and it is in your contract if you read it properly!!
