Hi:

Please excuse if this isn't the correct forum, but I was hoping to learn about garage door maintenance. I have a steel garage door WeatherGuard Series with DuraSafe system from Amarr Garage Doors [http://www.loweslink.com/pubdocuments/Amarr%20Garage%20Doors%20WeatherGuard%20Series%20w ith%20DuraSafe%20System.pdf (http://www.loweslink.com/pubdocuments/Amarr%20Garage%20Doors%20WeatherGuard%20Series%20w ith%20DuraSafe%20System.pdf)] and the LiftMaster 1/2 HP Belt Drive.

I was told to lubricate the rollers/hinges, and the manual says "all sheaves, non-plastic rollers, hinges and torsion springs" but I have no idea where to find them. Can you please help me identify the parts based on the link to the manual? You can quote me the page number and the figure number to direct me to the part.

Does the LiftMaster 1/2 HP Belt Drive garage door opener need to be maintained regularly? How?

Thanks,
K

If u have the owners manual, it would be a good idea to read it from cover to cover.

This will give u all the maintenance insructions needed and numbers for service.

If after reading manual u still have problem let us know.

Hi Chuck:

All I have is the copy of the PDF for which I provided the link in my original post. I moved into this house last year and the previous owner only left this PDF behind.

Thanks,
K

Hi K

There is no regular maintenance that has to be performed.

Once a year I treat rollers and rails with lithium grease. When doing rollers make sure to get grease on roller shaft.

Spray hinges that hold panels together with WD40.

The file does not show any spring.

There are 2 types of springs. The most common with door openers are located on the left and right sides of door track. It is attached to the mounting bar at rear of track. At other end it is attched to a roller that is attached to doorand front mounting bracket by a cable. This roller should be greased.

For safety, should have a cable running through spring mounted on bar in back and bracket in front. This is done in case spring breaks. Keeps it from falling down and causing damage to car or person.

Check with garage door opener manufacturer about service to at unit and tension of chain.

Hope this helps.
