How can I check the air pressure on a gas line to my house?

Do you intend to do this to test for leaks?

When we install a gas line the very first thing we do is paint all the joints with soapy water. We look for bubbles. If there are none then the line has no leaks. Please don't tell us you turned the gas on without testing.
