Hey... we live in a duplex and bought it 6 yrs ago after renting it for 2 years...

The other half is owned by a family of 4. the parents are well in their 70's and kids are in their 30's... until this summer we were living together pretty good... but...

The old man had come over to wish my daughter who had just graduated and started groping for her...

I told my daughter it must have been a mistake but she insisted that it wasn't so I asked her to keep her distance. Since then everting went haywire... he is being such a pain...

As the strata goes the homes are individually owned but the property around the homes are common property...

On a weekend when we weren't at home he tried to put up a fence... we stopped him and had our lawyer contact him to get the poles down...

Recently, we had to get them down ourselves...

But now I am stuck with a horrid old men who harasses my kids whenever they play outside he is houting at them... he comes and sits right in the middle of the backyard and makes sure The boys don't cross over...

He is being really bad... he is also a racist... whenever my boys have friends over who are not south asia he gets mad...

God I am so frustrated I just don't know what to do... can't afford to by another place and... and we don't want the fence as that's one of The reason why we bought the property... the lovely backyard...

My lawyers says I can't do much...

My kids summer was rotten because of all this and the youngest even got shingles which I was later told happens due to stress...

Totally depressed and frustrated

I am sorry this is happening, In general when you own property in common, you are going to have all sorts of problems down the road.

What happens when you have to get a new roof, when something happens to the foundation and more. Also to be sure the property has proper liablity insurance because of the joint ownership.

So things are just going to get worst, It sounds like he has had some mental issue that has happened, most likely because of his age. It is sad but I see it often working with elderly all the time.

And why can't you afford another place, sell the one you got, rent till you find another.
