View Full Version : Sink Stopper does not open

My sink stopper doesn't not open well. The lever handle moves a little but does not affect the stopper much.
Please advise:)

You may have hair on the horizontal rod inside the drain,See the Image below, Squeez the clip and remove from the horizontal rod, remove the nut and the horizontal rod, remove the pop up clean the pop up the inside of the drain/ horizontal rod and ball, lubricat the ball, and reassemble, make sure you the strip for up and down, see the Image, below

This is a easy fix. The clevis screw,(see image) just came loose.
Do this. Push the horizontal pivot rod down as far as it will go. Loosen the clevis screw so the stopper rod falls down. Now tighten the clevis screw and you're good to go. Good luck, Tom

Thanks to this great diagram I was finally able to get the stopper out of the sink! :D
