I do the lights at a small drama group with very low budget, my question is can I use security lights as flood lights on stage.. the light desk is a strand lbx and have some spare 15amp plugs is this possible

Each 15 amp circuit, not receptacle, can handle 1800 watts. There may be more than one receptacle per circuit.

The Strand LBX system is the control system, it does will control dimmer packs. You need to know the wattage capacity of each dimmer pack or circuit.

Then you need to know the wattage of each light you want to use, and connect to the dimmer packs without exceeding the capacity of the dimmer, circuit, and receptacle.

I assume when you say "security light' you mean quartz flood light, not HID, mecury or metal halide, as these will not work.

Halogen floodlight.. See

Halogen Floodlight (500w Black): Amazon.co.uk: Lighting (http://www.amazon.co.uk/eterna-CTH500S-Halogen-Floodlight-Black/dp/B000GCFOYO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=lighting&qid=1251380044&sr=1-2)

I have 24 15 amp circuits from the dimmer rack can take a load of 1200watts per channel..

Was thinking of just using these as footlights 4 at 500w each or 300w.

I know I should really get the proper stage flood like strand cobas but isn't got the budget..

Sorry for delay in reply
