The ceilng electrical box that I'm trying to connect a fixture to has three - two wire 14 ga. And one three wire 14 ga. Present (total of 4). All black wires are tied together and all white wires are connected to one another. The only wire bare on it's own is the red wire. Can you advise on how to configure this to a standard light fixture?

By bare I take that you mean that it stands alone, not that it is uninsulated. Connect white of fixture to the white bundle. Connect the black of the fixture to the stand alone red.
