Any particular reason?

Do you own a Mastif and want to take it swimming?

Best thing to do is try somewhere that has shallow water that gets deeper and have your dog on a long leash.
If you are taking your dog somewhere public that has water you will need to make sure your dog has basic obedience training first.

I saw it in Alaska... the Mastif went right into the water after some Salmon!

Haha, he was hungry ;)

We had a Great Dane that took off after a Seagull at the beach, straight out into the deep water and wouldn't listen when we called him. That's why ours don't go near water off leash anymore! :p

Yeah most dogs are natural born swimmers.
My father in law had a little dog that would dive to the bottom of the lake and come back up with red rock.

I have 2 four year old female bull mastiffs. NOT swimmers Ha! One of them will lay on the steps of the pool, but neither will swim. It's always been this way.. they just don't care for it. We have thrown them in a few times when the temperature gets into the teens ( in AZ ) but they just swim to the side and get out.

I wish they liked the water more~:)
