hello,
I have been on pain medication for many years, dilaudid and fentynal. My doctor has abruptly closed her practice. My question is as follows...

Does everyone who takes opiates go through nasty ugly withdrawl?

Is it possible for me to stop on my own, without the nasty ugly withrawl?

Thank you

Yes, I understand morphine is very difficult to come off. My client had difficulty with her legs, a feeling of crawling under the skin. Unfortunately it was a nursing error and she was put back on immediately. But extremely uncomfortable for her.

Hate pain, yes, I think everyone on opiates does go through uncomfortable withdrawal, but I don't know if you can do it on your own, without hospital intervention.

Hatepain... I want to say that I admire your strength in what appears to be an attempt to stop taking them. I wish you the best and hope that you don't have too many ugly withdrawal symptoms. Are you in chronic pain or do you think you are in a good place to let the meds go?

You can see if there is an alternative meds dr in your area that can help you. Some Chiropractors are into alternative meds.
