Im trying to instal my Ritetemp thermostat and none of the variations of my4 wires are on the directions. I have an RC,W,Y,and G. The white, yellow, and green wires were connected to the original thermostat as W,Y.and G. Easy enough. My red wire was connected to RC and it also had a red jumper wire coming from the B connector to it. The RH and the O connections had nothing.

What kind of heater do you have, or is it just an air handler for ac. Is it electric, or gas? Is it a heat pump or conventional system? Usually the RC and RH are jumped together and the red wire hooks to these. The white to w the yellow to y and the green to g. Can you post a pic of old thermostat and new thermostat connections. And also a post of the control board in furnace where thermostat wires hook up.

Its an air handler. I have gas heating. Its not a heat pump. I called the help line and they told me to hook everything up the way it was and not to jump RC to RH or RC to B. I did everything and there was no power to the thermostat. I will try to post pics later

I hope you killed the power to the airhandler first before you started messing with the tstat wires,, you can and might have fried the transformer

Hopefully you have a 3 amp fuse on control board or inline on 24v side of transformer. Check to see if you have one and see if it is burnt. IF it is, replace it and do as wmproop says and shut of power to furnace before continuing thermostat wiring.(goes without saying, but shut power off to furnace before checking and replacing fuse too). Please let us know what you find. Lee.

PS. You said it was an air handler, but you also said you have gas heat, so I'm assuming it's a gas furnace with cental ac. If it is, then if you can post the pics of the thermostat connections in furnace, I should be able to tell you exactly how to wire the thermostat. For that matter, if you could just tell me what color wires hooks to what leads in furnace, I should be able to help.

Yes.. I unhooked power. I hooked the old thermostat back up and ac is back on and working. The old thermostat is working but the digital readout is not showing and it also never shuts off but at least I could get some sleep with ac here in fla. The colors that are coming out of the handler/furnace is red, green, white, brown, and blue

Okay, now take cover off furnace and let me know what terminals the wires hook to. They should be labeled almost the same as thermostat(r,w,g,y,). We are getting closer to a solution, just bear with me and we will get this wired correctly to the new stat. Lee.

The white, green, and red are in terminals w,g,r on the circuit board. The blue wire is grounded on the metal panel behind the circuit . There's a brown wire with 2 wires.(red and white) that come from a little relay type switch. There's a small little red reset button on the bottom of it. That wire just feeds out to other wires that go to the thermostat

OK, you lost me with the relay swith for thermostat wires(sounds like your condenser unit wires go through some sort of relay?) What brand and model is the furnace? How old is it? Ive really got to see a pic of the wiring in the furnace. Do you see a C terminal next to the r,g,w terminals? Do you see a Y terminal next to the rgw? Please post a pic if possible.
