I have a 11'6" interior wall separating the dining room from the entrance hallway. I want to remove 6' of it to open the space up. I will only have to move one electrical line for the light switch to the dining room ceiling light which is no problem since it will be made shorter. I am posting pics of the room and the attic space above the wall. It looks like the ceiling joists run parallel to the wall. Is this a load bearing wall? I don't think it is but I want to make sure.
Thanks,
Patty

The second pic of the attic shows exposed joists with wires going across them... that is the area where the wall is that I want to remove. I want to open the wall up to the other side of the cutout and just have a short wall for a "foyer".
Thanks,
Patty
