So me and my boyfriend have been having Unprotected sex and we had sex when my vaginal discharge was like "egg-white texture" and the internet says that that's when you are ovulating. So I was just wondering how long I need to wait to take a pregnancy test.. ANSWERS ASAP PLEASE?! OHH ALSO HOW LONG AFTER OVULATION DOES IT TAKE FOR THE EGG TO IMPLANT?

The general rule of thumb is the day you miss an expected period. Even then sometimes it's too early, so if the first test is negative and your period still hasn't come in a few days it's a good idea to test again.

I have read some things online recently because I am in a similar situation. I wish I had the links but I just do not. But if you know when the first day of your last period is then you can figure it out. Justcurious55 is right on-- just to put a little more science behind it I guess you would say-- I believe textbook says with a 28 day cycle you will ovulate 14 days after your period and can test 10 days past ovulation OR 4 days before missed period(same thing) with early result tests. Although from personal experience I do not recommend this, but that choice is yours! Good luck either way!

Hey
Thanks for the answer. Do you know about how long after ovulation it takes for the egg to actually "implant"
When something starts in a public thread, it's usually better to keep it in the public threads rather than private messages. I think it can take up to something like 5 days but I don't recall off the top of my head. But that's the great thing about these public threads, I'm not positive about it but someone else on here probably does know :)

You're correct in that "eggwhite cervical mucus" is the most fertile.
An egg implants approximately 7 - 10 days after fertilization. Even at that point, testing would be too early.
Its recommended that you wait 14 days after your fertile period to test. Any sooner and you might get an inaccurate result.

She is correct. I have heard 7-10 and 6-12 so I would say give it a couple of extra days at the end before you test just in case :) good luck and keep us posted!

Oh girl, you were definitely ovulating. I would wait about a week and a half, that might give you the true results. Buy the pregnancy test that let you test 5 days before your period. I hope you ready for a baby because I had the same egg white discharge and had unprotected sex and the day after I just knew I could be pregnant. I even went and got the morning after pill... I should have kept my 30 dollars because I got pregnant anyway. BUT! Now I have a beautiful baby girl who is 8 months old and is making me laugh all day long. Ovulation and implantation takes about 2-3 days, that why you have 72 hours to take the morning after pill, the pill is suppose to prevent implantation. But that's not a guarantee because I took it the day after and still have a bouncing baby girl.
Goood luck!

Still the same as before, wait a few more days and take a test. :)
