View Full Version : Oral Glutathione does NOT work

"Oral Glutathione is NOT effective because the stomach enzymes destroy the glutathione. It makes it useless and doesn’t get absorbed by the body. In one of the experiments, a person took 3,000 mg of Oral Glutathione and later blood level glutathione was analyzed. As expected, Glutathione did not show in the blood. Some of the manufacturers of glutathione pills are now trying to put a protective layer in the pills. But even though they do this, not all will be absorbed and so the money you spent for this goes to the drain and you don’t get the desired result. In Intravenous route, however, the most concentrated form flows directly to the blood where it is really desired to go and be distributed to the different parts of the body. Therapeutic effect will last 2-4 months after therapy is discontinued."

According to research, it's true that Glutathione pills are practically impossible to be absorbed by the body... but there's new technology out there that is currently making glutathione in liposomal form and according to research, 90% of liposamal glutathione could be found in the blood of test subjects... I've ordered some of this and hope to try it soon... I'll let you guys know if it works or not...

For more info on liposomal glutathione, just Google it... lol

I'd say this is pretty much true. Oral ingestion of pure Glutathione (apparently) won't work. Your body produces natural Glutathione itself however, and certain foods do trigger increases in this, which is much more effective.

An example would be certain protein/whey powders, which have been proven to increase certain amino acid productions including Glutathione.

Anybody taking the spray

anybody taking the spray

I checked the sites out who are selling it. It made me laugh, because either way it will still be absorbed through the digestive system (GI tract) and will not be effective. The only way it can be effective is if it is injected directly in the veins, and possibly even
"the glutathione concentrations can be raised by increased intake of the precursor cysteine (necessary building block of glutathione) but cysteine can also be "potentially toxic". I'm not even for certain if the body will lighten with glutathione soap, as I have tried the one from Diana Stalder and I saw little difference, if any.

Then consider yourself lucky for never trying Bio Claire. They are very shady and I had learned the hard way. I'm nolonger using it now as I have recently stopped. But, they have a hidden ingredient that they refuse to list, only calling it "bio vegetal activator"... coming to find out they used steroids. Also they say "No Hydroquinone", but ine ingredients were tested and it does contain like 0.06% hydroquinone. I'm not completely against the use of Hq, but for Bio Claire to deliberately lie to their consumers is tooo shady. It did lighten my face, but it made my arms and legs burn. There was no physical scarring, but on my upper arms they were bright red like this  for a few days-week. And then it turned extremely dark, even after the skin peeled. But, I was able to get rid of the dark areas with another lightening cream and now back to normal.

I should've known to leave that mess alone because of how shady, cheaply produced, and sketchy they appeared. But, from reading so many good testimonials from people on the boards I tried it out anyway.. and learned my lesson and more critical on skin lighteners.

Lol.. you said the models were horrendous. Yeah, well at that time I was pretty new with lightening the skin and knew little during that time, so it was a lesson to learn. But, I heard Stillman's may have mercury in it right?

You all are on the right track.

But the two most popular forms of Glutathione use would be IV glutathione and the precursurs for the productions of glutathione.
Check out Glutathione and Parkinson's Disease (http://www.squidoo.com/Helpparkinsons) and Max out your life (http://goodhealthequalswelth.wordpress.com/)

Hey Champion, you are referring to the Cysteine especiallly N-Acetyl Cysteine,
As well as Glycine and Glutamate, correct? I have been considering trying the N-Acetyl Cysteine to help the body to produce more glutathione, but I am unsure what the proper dosage would be in order to lighten as well as for safety. How much? Because it's known that too much cysteine in the body can possibly cause nerve damage when taken in large doses. What are your thoughts on this?

Hey girls.. gluta whitenings are not working on g.I. and on skin(like those on soaps), maybe for some patient it works when applied as medication.. but if you need an effective application of gluta maybe try searching for other ways to augment gluta as for your whitening... have you heard gluta in a bottle? Weird isn't it? But I found it...

Lol...

Sublingual Absorption

Sublingual, meaning literally under the tongue, refers to a method of administering substances orally in such a way that the substances are RAPIDLY and MORE EFFECTIVELY ABSORBED as compared to capsules or tablets via the digestive tract. There is no danger of overdose since glutathione is a natural compound found in the body.

I am sure glutathione works. There is research on it.

However, we do not realise that in order for it to work it must circulate as glutathione itself. Its not as if we are eating carbohydrates which need to be broken in the stomach and then circulated around the body.

It needs to be NOT broken down in the stomach. Thereby, if we could find either medication that has ingredients which when broken down convert INTO GLUTATHIONE in excess doses , there is a strong possibility we are going to get much lighter.

Else Im not sure but injections of glutathione seem more rational than capsules to me. Just my opinion.

But yes capsules I don't think will work either if its str8 glutathione.

Hmmm, not sure I buy this. These blood serum tests are always a bit sketchy because of preferential tissue accumulation, half-lives, different GI circumstances (empty stomach, full stomach, other things taken at the same time) and whatnot which are hard to correctly control for.

You always have to be careful of placebo effects on "I feel better" or "I have more energy" but some things, like reduced pigmentation, are harder to fool yourself on.

Liposomal glutathione might be better, but I'd file this under "needs a lot more study."
