Hello All;

I have purchased a new HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop with Windows Vista. I don't find Vista more friendly even if more visuals and graphics are improved and good looking.

I decided to downgrade the OS from Vista to Windows XP Professional and downladed the drivers from HP website for Windows XP.

The weired thing is that the drivers I have downloaded (After selecting the correct Laptop Model and the OS version on the HP website), I noticed that the drivers are not being installed even I install them again and again, esp. the Video and graphics and even the LAN card!!

Please help me to get the correct driver for my HP Pavilion dv6000 for Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2

Thanks

At the time the laptop was manufactured, the drivers were made for vista for that model and HP did not make drivers for XP for that model. Unfortunately there is not much you will be able to do except try and get the XP drivers to work. They just did not make the originals 'backwards' compatible

Only thing you can try and may work, download the Vista drivers for your model and install them (even though using XP) you need to have the drivers for the PC not the operating system.
