I was notified a few days ago that the house I live in has been sold out from underneath me and I have less than two months to vacate. I had no idea my landlord even had the house for sale. I have lived there a total of two months and my twelve month lease isn't up until next June. I can't afford a lawyer. Is there some way for me to get compensation? I have heard of being bought out of a lease, but how can I do it? How much should I ask for? I can definitely not afford another deposit and first month's rent. Please help.

If you have a written lease then the new owner has to honor it. You don't have to vacate until the lease term has ended.

If you want the new owner to buy you out I would ask for at least 2 months rent plus moving expenses.

Unless the house was sold though a foreclosure, you don't have to move
** assuming you are in the US.

Just tell the new owners that they are obligated to honor the lease of the person who sold them the house.
*** and they are****

So they can not evict you, if they try and you go to housing court, they should not be able to win
