Hello, Thanks for having this great site. My question is on Thursday night last week we noticed water at the bottom of our 80 gallon water heater. It is from 1992 and the relief valve is in the back corner not accessible. We thought it was the bottom of the water heater that leaked but now we think it was the releif valve. Any ideas as to what it could be? We had a fan on it all weekend and there is no water now so maybe it was change in water pressure from the city?

Chances are if Everything's dried up that the pressure spiked and tripped the relief valve. I would keep a eye on it for awhile but it doesn't sound like you're in trouble. Good luck, Tom
