I have a Trane brand a/c and furnace. It is so super quiet that I don't know if it working. I just bought the house and it was already here, so not sure how old or what brand. It is cool inside and the outside a/c kicks on, however, I do not hear any kind of blower come on. I can feel a slight breeze coming out of the vents, but when it is set at 73 or 72 degrees, it seems to stay on for hours and hours, even thought the thermostat says it is 72 degrees? Are Trane units so quiet you can hardly hear them? Since it is cold inside is it working? Why does it continue to run nonstop for hours? Any advice? I did just change the filters. They are clean.

Some of the new high efficiency furnaces run most of the time. I know it sounds crazy but they say it is the best way to keep a home cool by using this system. Some are called two speed, and when it is warm in the home they run on fast but as the home cools it switchs to slow speed just to keep the cool air circulating.
