I have no confidence in myself at all, and all though my sister who is the only family I have contact with, tells me time and time again I can do things, my mind tells me I simply cannot. I have a strong realationship with my friends but I'm always the outsider to them as they have confidence and do things with there lives, and I'm scared I'm losing them. What can I do to give myself that boost of confidence that I need?

You need someone you trust who you can talk to.
Everyone goes through stages of insecurity and sometimes they fade on their own, sometimes they only improve with help.
Try to remember that even if others APPEAR to be confident and brave, it doesn't mean that they are.
It seems silly, but sometimes it really helps to pretend like you're more confident than you are. Have you ever heard anyone say "Put on a fake smile and soon you'll mean it"? Just promise yourself that you will try ONE new thing - no matter how scared you are. If you do well, write it down and remember how good that felt. If you don't do well, that's okay too! We all fail at some point... the key is to try again and again.
You have great friends - can you talk to them about it? Write in a journal?
