I know there's got to be a way. I let the battery run down on my roomie's Caddy and now the engine acts like it's not getting gas. I was told to try resetting the computer before I chevked the fuel pump. Any hyelp here?
Thanks guys, Tom

Just my 2 cents here. I thought that Cadillacs have some sort of safety mechanism that keeps the battery from running down completely. My neighbors have a 1995 Caddy and left their headlights on all night but the safety mechanism cut off the headlights and they could start up the car the next morning.

Maybe it's something else.

Twink,
The battery ran down and wouldn't turn over the motor.. When I recharged the battery it sounded like it might want to catch but never does. I thinking fuel pump but I want to try resetting the computer first. Can any one help? Regards, tom

Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 15 seconds, recording any radio codes first. Alternatively, remove the ECM Backup Fuse, usually located in the under hood fuse/relay box, for 15 seconds. Fuel pumps rarely go bad, even though many replace them. Turn the ignition switch to ON, wait until the fuel pump stops running, and then turn it OFF. Repeat this procedure several times. It will fully pressurize the fuel rail. Fuel injectors won't operate properly, unless the fuel rail is fully pressurized. Ensure the tank has more than a few gallons of gas. If the car has been sitting, the gas may be stale. If the problem persists, consider changing the fuel filter.
