Trying to find the name of a french (I think) movie set in the Sudan where a woman photographer is taken hostage by a nomadic tribesman, as it was shown late at night I fell asleep half way through and missed the last half hour so don't know how it ended.

It was probably made in the mid to late 80's but can't remember the name of the actress, I think she is quite famous though.

Hope someone can help, would really like to see the film again and find out how it ended!

You seemed uncertain that it was French. If not, I thought it may be this one:

Double Exposure: The Story of Margaret Bourke-White, which came out in

1989, and starred Farrah Fawcett, as the Life magazine international photojournalist.

Thanks Couchcarrot, I don't think this is the movie as it was shown on a TV channel showing a season of foreign language movies, thanks for taking the time to respond though.

Hurrah, just remembered it was called The Captive of the Desert starring Sandrine Bonnaire from 1990!
