I'm a natural blonde and I just dyed my hair a semi-permanent red. I love how natural it looks and I'm considering keeping this color for a while. I've read a lot about semi-permanent vs. demi-permanent vs. permanent color and I'm convinced that because my hair is so thin and fragile that I will probably have more luck not damaging my hair by using semi-permanent color, but because red is so hard to keep I will have to color often.

I'm also trying to grow my hair out. Will the constant and frequent use of semi-permanent color damage my hair? And also, because I'm applying color on top of more color, will my shade eventually get darker the more I dye it, if I keep this color for say, 2 years?

Thanks so much~

Yes, coating your hair in chemicals will damage it to some aspect.

Yes, it will get darker. If you keep coloring over one spot on a piece of paper with a crayon does that spot get darker?
