I've got a Hunter Ceiling fan with remote fan/light kit. All was working fine until I replaced a bulb. I did not, (I found later) use the recommended bulb. When I turned the light on, it came on but looked funny. Once I turned it off then back on, it would not light. I tried then replacing with a correct bulb and it would not light.

I just took the light kit off, and noticed the black wire going into the remote light kit (white light assembly 85112-04) looks like its cut half in to. I can't tell if that's cut or blown open. Should I NOT try to splice that wire and try it again, but rather just buy a new kit? If it is blown, would this have taken out the remote too? The remote is still turning the fan off and on.

I'm not sure EXACTLY what it looks like, pictures might help. Or just order whatever parts are recommended from Hunter Fan - Ceiling Fans, Air Purifiers, Humidifiers, Thermostats (http://www.hunterfan.com) they might be able to walk you through replacement if you call.
