Hi there,

First I want to say that I´m white between light brunet to blond.

I´m using hidroquinone 4% at least for 2 years and I like the results, but now I buyed some benoquin tubes to apply on my face,I´m really white, but now I want to have the whitest skin tone possible, and overall,I want something definitive,as hidroquinone is reversible.
So I heard about monobenzone, and I buyed, but now I´m a little bit afraid,I read about patches, skin turning dark instead of turning white, and others.

Most of this I read from people with dark skin and applying mono, but what can I expect from monobenzone as I´m very light white and not dark?
My natural skin color is like john travolta.

There is any risk of repigmentation to a dark tone of my natural skin color?

Do you guys advice me to use monobenzone,or not?

Can I use mono, after 2 years of hidroquinone?

I was very well using hidroquinone,I heard that monobenzone is almost the same compound,so I guess if I was dealing well with hidroquinone,my skin will accept monobenzone the same way... or not?

Any help I will appreciate.

Thank you so much to all of you.

Kind regards.

Although I am not using either, I would figure the patches would be less noticeable because of your complexion but mono is irreversable and drastic. Hq 4% I am unsure, but it is temporary but can also have irreversable effects in the long run. Unless you use it for a short period and then switch to something else to help maintain possibly

So,it´s safe to use on face?

What kind of results I may expect to obtain using this?

There is any risk of hyper repigmentation,I ask this because I don´t know how long I have to use this,I really want to stop the melanin production permently.

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards.

I don't know how safe either would be for the face. Right now I'm using bio claire for the face, which I heard it may contain like 0.02% or something like that. I also used makari which lightened my face a lot. It's possible for both to give you acne from what I have been reading so far. But, makari gave me an occasional zit or 2. Then if your goal is to depig completely, try asking about the mono from the mono thread, they should be able to give more advice of their experiences with it https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/skin-lightening/have-you-guys-used-monobenzone-benoquin-before-after-pics-88584.html or try sending a pm to those who have used it.

How light did you get from using hydroquenone for 2 years and what percentage did you use?

I never heard of that pharmacy before, so I don't know. Whenever you are lightening your skin, you should always wear a good sunscreen with high spf for protection. Mono is strong, so I don't know if using an exfoliating cream will cause more irritation or not because I never used mono before. https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/skin-li...ics-88584.html

Did you purchase your Hq 4% from the Online Pharmacy? Are you using the Retin-A also, I read that people are using these 2 together gives better results. I myself am at a crossroads on what to use next.

Hi,

No,I was just using hidroquinone, and I buyed from this place: Only Obagi Discount Store (http://www.obagi-onlyobagi.com/)

Now I changed to mono, and till now I´m seeing no results, but I´m just using 5 days,I guess I need more time to see something.

But additionally I have a few questions, that maybe you or someone else may answer me,if you mind

1- as I said, after 5 days using I´m seeing no results,in fact now I note that my skin is turning a little bit darker, nothing important, but slightly a bit from the time I start using,is this normal?

2- every time I apply the cream,It burns a lot,specially around the eyes,then stops burning after 15 or 20 minutes,is this normal?

3- I noted that my skin is now more sensible to touch, when I touch my face It´s much more sensible.

4- I only apply benoquin once a day,should I apply more often,something like 2 or 3 times a day?

5- I´m feeling a little bit sad,because I tought as a depigmentation cream,benoquin will lighten my skin,but know after 5 days,I´m seeing myself with a slightly darker skin,maybe this is just psychological,I don´t know,maybe I´m expecting results to soon.
Any help,please?

Regards

Personally, I never used mono before. But, I have done some reading from others' experiences. From what I have read, It is common for Mono to make the skin burn and that it can take long periods to fully depigment the skin (possibly 1-2+ years), but that you should definitely see some lightening within a few months. It is also common that it will put white patches and spots on your body, as it does not lighten evenly.

I don't know why it is getting darker, but do you use a high spf sunblock? You will need to use this everyday 15-30 min before you go outside. I use Neutrogena spf 70 or spf 85. Also do you moisturize after applying the mono? Here's 2 mono threads that you can read through
https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/skin-lightening/all-these-shades-monobenzone-358369.html
https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/skin-lightening/anil-monobenzone-349041.html

Whatever you do, never buy from monobenzone.net because many people have been scammed from that site.

That's how some people skin react to the benoquin 20% cream, that's like your skin melainin are being destroyed, that's why you getting darker.. because your skin pigment is trying to fight aganst the monobenzone cream,if you keep using it,that cycle is going to fail soon.

Hey,thanks for this information haiji, you gave me some piece of mind.

I´m using just once a day, what´s your advice:

One time a day is enough or I need to apply more?

I ask this because I use to apply at night, then during the day I don´t apply,I just use sunscreen( la roche posay anthelios 50spf),I wonder if the melanin can retake is cycle because all day without mono.

A few quick pointers: your skin may give the illusion of getting darker, when in reality certain parts are actually getting lighter in contrast to the present dark skin.

I've been using Alpha Arbutin alongside a bit of Monobenzone, and know for a fact that the chances of gaining more melanin is relatively low. (Therefore dark to new light skin contrast is the only explanation.)

Till now the same.

The burning sensation as decreased but I don´t see any skin lightening, but thanks lord,no skin darkening,I like much more the results from hidroquinone, but maybe I need more time to see any results,I´m gone keep applying for now.

That's sad. Imgorgeous why not switch to something else that is much more effective and trash or give away your leftover mono? So, as you are lightening you can still search for something else that is at least semi-permanent.

Well.. currently I have

1) One kilo of monobenzone... from a chinese vendor
2) A pound of mono from mono.net the crappiest ever...
3) about a kilo from an indian source... doesn't seem to work either
4) A kilo of hydroquinone... haven't really started on it properly... used it for like three days had nice red red skin.. but I think it would settle down and work.. it looked the most effective of the lot... nevertheless I knew it would be so temporarry... I didn't want to continue.. I will use it as the last resort.
5) I am currently using a body bleach... been over a weekk.. Not working
6) I have some leftover benzylarbutin which SURELY doesn't work !

Lol.. I am a big LOSER.. who cannot achieve his goal !

What's the sense of selling all this ? If it didn't work for me It would be stupid to sell it to others that would be like duping them...

Secondly who knows tomorrow if I realise I still want to continue with mono and find some great recipe, I may regret giving it away...

Why to buy from some guy from India?
Or china?

Buy from usa spectrumchemical
Anil buys from them
All the chinas sites buy from them
Mono.net buy from them or from the chinas that buy from them..

In usa they got strict terms and rulls for selling chemicals..

Click 4-(benzyloxy)phenol USP
OR MONOBENZONE

If your skin is already light then don't get too scared to use mono. I have used it, my skin is white. It got me lighter, but it is nothing drastic on white skin. On dark skin, whole other story. I got patches of white, but they blended in really well with my natural color. Also, I didn't use it for too long, just two months till I got the result I wanted. Using it for a long time is enough to mess with your natural pigment and in some cases is irreversible. So you have to be careful with how long you use it for.

You are not a loser, we are all here to learn and exchange lightening strategies. If we had all achieved our goal, most of us would not be up here. Why not read more into mequinol/tretinoine then? That is one of the things that I am trying to do since it can be reversible when used at low doses, as well as permanent when used at 20% I believe and will depig the skin.

I believe that,but what I want is something permanent,everlasting.
HQ gave me good results, but the results are reversible,I don´t to use this all my life in order to maintain the results.

neptuno, have u seen any lightening resuts yet? Where did u end up getting your mono from?

lilgreg1
Sep 7, 2009, 04:37 PM
It's been proven that monobenzone doesn't guarantee a permanent skin lightening or even depigmenting solution. It works by increasing melanin excretion, and possibly harming/destroying melanocytes. Your body continually produces new cells (not as many when it comes to melanocytes however) as old ones die, regardless of whether they may be as active or not.

As for barry101, well said. Your skin's melanin content actually does work in layers, and monobenzone's results are actually similar but more drastic that other skin lighteners like hydroquinone, etc. If you look very closely, you'll notice that your skin lightens in patches no matter what; those of monobenzone's effect are just a bit larger and faster. The melanin particles closer to the melanocyte in general will lighten much later than any existing melanin away from the cell.

how many tubes did you buy & how long did they last?

Depends the areas you want to apply.

For now,I´m just using on my face, which tube contain 20g.
I bought 3 tubes, more or less they last for 3 months(which means one tube for one month +/-).

Of course if you want to use in larger areas, you gone need more product,my advice is starting in small areas of your body to see the results.

Yes I do.
First I saw the same darkening efect as your friend, but now after 50 days of use,my skin is slightly white then before.

Till now no side efects, but I guess some of those side efects are related with the skin complexion,I mean; people with dark skin will get more problems using mono, most common are patches.
