So I was in a relationship for a while - and have been single now for a little over 3 months. I think I'm ready to start dating again - maybe nothing serious but just get back in the game. As a single girl though, its kind of hard to meet new people. I usually like to have a pal or wingwoman to hang out with but it seems like most of my lady friends are all in relationships now.

Any ideas for good places to meet new people (either for a potential relationship or new friends)? I've come to the conclusion that bars are never the place to start a relationship.

1) Try some online dating sites.

2) Try going to the gym.

3) Ask friends to introduce you to other friends.

4) Any other hobbies that you enjoy?

Church, but don't go there for potential dates, go there to meet new friends! It will lead...

I'm struggling with this too. I'd like to meet people my age without having to get drunk all the time (or feel like I have to). There just doesn't seem to be that many options when you're single. I go to the gym 4-5 days per week, but it's a lot of older people. I'd like assistance too! :)

I know the feeling. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week, I go out for walks around the university that I live near, I just try to get out as much as possible, but its hard to meet people. I've never made a quality friend in a bar.

Its hard where I live since I live near a University campus, and most people are 21 or under, where as I'm 26 looking for someone not in college anymore :(

Hey bella,
In order to meet a date first you should completely forget about it. Then you should not think of meeting dates, but meeting people. You are 2.27 times more likely to meet your date with mutual friends then in bars or clubs (don't ask me how I got this number lol). Ask your friends around, and join some sport activity, that will create bonds.

Try picking up a new hobby. What's something you've always wanted to try? Like cooking classes, art classes, dance classes etc. Or try talking to people at work you've never talked to before.
