How do I go about helping my boyfriend find his father? BF is 45 yrs old, born April 1964 (Michigan). His mother never married the father and he is not on the birth certificate. She also cannot remember much. He was African American with blue eyes, very tall, worked in a used car dealership on West Grand Boulevard in Detroit in the early 60s. The father's name was Gordon Burke/Bourke/Burks. He had family in Ann Arbor and travelled from there to work in Detroit.

BF's mother was born in 1940 and was therefore 23 when she met the father. She says the father was older than her by around 7 yrs which would make him born around 1933. The father was not married at the time he was with my BF's mother.

I've tried census listings but nothing seems to fit.

So sorry, I forgot to mention that we believe the father was born in Michigan and lived in Michigan. The father does not know about his son. BF has cancer and would dearly love to find his father.
