Can the shower p-trap be located over by the vent / stack ( 3' hoz ) rather then right under the tub?

You have just mixed apples and oranges. A shower "P" trap and a bathtub.
Perhaps you better take a little time and tell me what's going on here.
Are you swapping a shower for a tub or visa-versa ? Platforming a bathtub?
What? Cheers. Tom

I am re-connecting an existing tub ( I have a sink I need to hook up too )... It's an old house I have switch over to ABS. I have a new 4" stack that , as it goes vertical it bushes down to 3" and then connects to a 2" wet Vent ( I bathroom sink above ).

So... I was thinking put a 3 x 2 double T at the top of the 3" stack and tie the tub and sink into it. ( both lest then 5' away from the wet vent ).

So I have the P-Trap issue and I am wondering if I can put the Ptrap at the end of the trap arm ( before the T ) or does it have to be directly under the tub?

Clear as mud?
