My boyfriend has been incarcerated for 10 years for Armed Robbery. It was really a case of being with the wrong people at the wrong time, however; he paid his debt to society. He was also given 10 years probation, and that's a lot of probation for someone who has served their time completely. Is there any kind of way we can get his probation lessened, or expunged, or something? It's really hard to start over when you constantly have to report, piss, and at that for 10 years. Is there anything he can do?

Is there anything he can do?Hello Ronnie:
Sure there is... He's going to have to give 'em at least five years of clear conduct, and then they'll probably let him off. Even if they don't, as he progresses through it with NO incidents, they'll give him less and less supervision. They'll stop piss testing him, and might even put him on unsupervised probation...
The KEY is his conduct.

After doing at least 1/2 or 3/4 of the probation he can petition the court for early termination of probation. In the meantime he needs to toe their line exactly and do everything they want him to do when they want him to do it - no exceptions. None of the "Oh gee, I forgot to report in person." Also, traveling outside of the state is not recommended unless they have prior written permission to do so. No exceptions on this or instant revocation. And no getting arrested for anything or it could be instant revocation as well.
