I went to a clinic, own by major hospital, a for blood test, contracted out to a major lab.The phlebotomist opened a drawer and took out 1 cotton ball, put it directly on counter, next to the hand wash sink. He put on a pair of gloves and used an alcohol wipe to wipe my arm. Then he wiped the area dry with the cotton ball, and he put it down directly on the armrest. When he finished drawing the blood he used the same cotton ball again. I feel the counter top and the armrest are contaminated surfaces, I bring my own cotton balls next time. Who should I report this to? Or this is NORMAL? Thanks

Not normal and unsanitary. I would not have allowed them to draw the blood.

It was not proper procedure. The counter top was not a sterile surface.
I would report this to hospital administration,if you are so inclined.
