I had to remove the aerator on my kitchen faucet -- no big deal, I've done it before, and put it right back without a problem. But this time, I cannot get it to go back on securely -- water keeps spitting out over the top of it. First, I tried wrapping a rubber band around the aerator, so I could get a better grip on it, but it didn't help. So then I used a pair of pliers (over the rubber band), which did seem to get it a little tighter -- the horizontal streams of water were smaller than when I did it by hand -- but it didn't cure the problem. I'd really like to get the aerator back on my faucet -- but I'd also like to be able to stand at my sink and not get drenched. Any suggestions?

You lost part of it, purchase a new one.

In order to hand tighten cut a piece of masking or duct tape about 1 1/2" long. Fold in thirds (the long way) with sticky side out. That will in effect give you a piece of double sided tape. Wrap this around the aerator.

Yeah! I have one. I think you put it back together wrong. That's what happens when the parts aren't right. Here's some help,(see image)
Or like Harold sez. Buy a new one. Regards, tom
