Hello,
We are experiencing root problems in our main drain line. I dug up the stretch of pipe that has the worst root intrusion so I can install a 2 way clean-out in order to snake both directions if we have any further problems. Right now my run to the street is like 150' so I don't want to dig up the entire yard to replace all the piping, at least not right away. It looks like it's that old clay piping with cement joints (where I see roots getting in). My question is should I just pull the two sections that have the major root issues and replace with PVC using those fernco couplings or should I cut into the middle of one of the sections to install the clean-out? The piping looks 6" so not sure if you can use a sawzall... Pics are attached. Thx for the help.
