My Harbor Breeze remote doesn't turn on the light anymore. The remote works for the fan just fine. The fan light will turn on from the wall, but not when using the remote. It's been working for 2 yrs, but recently stopped working. Is this fixable?

I am a bit confused here. Are you saying you used to be able to turn on the light with EITHER the wall switch or the remote. The way fans are installed the wall switch send power to the fan receiver. Once power hits the receiver then the reciver will either turn on or off the fan and light.

Yes, I have two wall switches.. One operates the light part of the fan, and one operates the fan itself. I can still turn the light on/off using the wall switch, as well as turn the fan on/off with the other wall switch...

With both wall switches in the on position, I used to be able to turn them both off or on with the remote.. (The light part of the remote is just a green button, which you depress to turn the light off or on) ) (The fan part of the remote lets you choose 3 speeds or turn it off).

I know it's not the remote because I have the same fan in another room and the remote will work with that fan/light (once I change the dip switches to match what I set up for that fan).

So I wasn't sure what the green button (for the light) on the remote "talked" with to turn the light on or off. Whatever it's talking with (in the light), is not "talking" back (or listening) any more.

No.. can't turn on or off the light with the remote. But, like I said.. the remote does work on other lights in the house (once I change the dip switches). The remote will turn on/off the fan, but not the light.

You can try replacing the receiver as it appears to be the problem.

BUT

If you can control the fan with the remote AND with two separate wall switches, something was wired screwy in the first place, which may have contributed to receiver failure.

Open it at the ceiling and tell us how it is wired.
