The Christian teaching is that the inner section or Most Holy of the tabernacle represented heaven itself where the High Priest, who represented or foreshadowed Jesus would enter with the value of the ransom sacrifice for our sins. Other parts of the tabernacle also had prophetic meaning. The link below leads to an article on the symbolic meaning of other tabernacle features.

Hebrews 8:1
Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

Oh do I have some things to tell you! I just started reading The Threshing Floor devotional and this is EXACTLY what it is about! Jesus is now the DOORWAY in which we enter. When God told the children of Israel to build the tabernacle, it was for a meeting place with him. Now WE are the Tabernacle clearly stated in the Bible. The curtains, the furniture, the brazen laver, everything relates to how WE are to Worship God and come to Him in the order of Levitical priesthood. It is all about ORDER. If you would like, email me and I'll give you a lot more info, it's too much to list on a thread!
