We have a Noritz Tanklass Water Heater for about 5 years, getting it shortly after we bought the house.
Lately we have had trouble maintaining hot water, particularly in our upstairs master bath shower. At times it can take several minutes to even get hot water, then once it is running we all of a sudden get several minutes of cool to cold water.
The Noritz folks tell me our unit may have a calicum buildup and has to be flushed out with vinegar because the buildup could effect the unit, causing it to decrease putting out hot water.
However, I want to know if the problem could also be out pipes in our home which is over 20 years old. If there enough calcium buildup in or around the faucets, will that cause cold water to take over the hot?
Thank you!
