I am told my compressor is nearly done, and were I to buy a new one, as of two months ago, it would be unlike the one I have, and I would have to replace lines into my house and much more, and after doing all that I would still be left with a 13 yr old furnace, so I am told I should just spend $5K and do it all. My Ruud furnace is a UGLH-07EAMER downdraft. It is a Silhouette II model.

Did they explain why you have to replace the lines, if the lines are in good condition, just replace the whole condenser unit(with same freon).does it still run, why replace it? Get at least 3 estimates.but if you have money to burn just do as they said
