My son was working at a mall, private land. He went into clock in, and his boss told him they needed to talk to him. So he goes over and talks to them. They told him they were going to have to let him go, cause they got multiple phone calls saying that he wasn't doing his job for the amount of money he was getting paid for. $8.00 an hour. He asked them who called in, and they wouldn't tell him. He had been working there since 01-11-07-07-20-09. He never ever got a written, verbal, a 3 days off or anything. Would he have a case in wrongful termination? He would also go up and work off the clock and not charge them for some things he done. He was on the list for the alarm system to call him, if the alarm went off. He went up several times in the middle of the night, and checked it out without charging them for it. He always done anything they ever wanted him to do. He helped all the stores out with anything they needed done, he even went all out to help them, even on his time. They are so upset with them firing him, cause they said he was the only one they ever seen working, or done anything for them. We may have an idea who called in to just say things like that for him to lose his job. I would appreciate it if you would write me back. Thanks..

Did he have an employment contract? Is there a union?

It's employment at will - he could have been terminated if the employer didn't like the color of his socks.

It's unfortunate but unless everyone of your son's age, race, religion was let go I do not see discrimination.

If you can PROVE who made the calls and PROVE that the information was false and the person who called KNEW it was false, then you might have a legal claim against that person. Can you get that type of proof?
