My friend viewed child pornography and is being charged for it. He has a felony convinction now. There was testing done to show that he does not have any attraction to children and is sorry for what he did. He heard that there will be 28 conditions to his probation. I know some of them are: he can't be alone with minors, can't be on any social networking or dating websites, a curfew of 10pm, he can't go to any bars o strip clubs, he must report to probation and they are allowed to search his room in his house at anytime. What other conditions of probation are there?

He would have to sign up anywhere he lives on the sexual predator listing for his county or town.
He will not be allowed within so many feet of schools and parks.
He will probably not be allowed to have a relationship with a woman with children.

He probably won't be able to go to anyone's house if they have minor children, no food places where there are minors, any place within 100 feet of a minor. He will have to take classes dealing with the charge for a pre determined period. Possibly do community service. Possibly see a counselor, possibly pay restitution to the court. There are any number of conditions. He will likely have to register as a sex offender anywhere he lives for the rest of his life. They can also drug test him at random, require him to work a steady job. Those last two are both typical conditions of any probation.

What other conditions of probation are there?Hello R:
There's no telling. However, he has them listed on his probation papers. Why are YOU so interested?

His child pornography charges were only of a couple pictures. He will be a Level one sex offender which is the lowest one. Level One sex offenders work dfferently then level 2 and 3. On a level one, you have to register as a sex offender but its not on the public registry. You have to know the persons name, their address or other identity information to find out if that person is a sex offender. Also, his only a sex offender for 20 years. His not allowd to be alone with children. However, there are no limitations on where he can live. He could live near a school. His allowed to attend event where there are children present but he can't be left alone with them.

What your describing is for Level 2 and level 3 sex offenders, not level one sex offenders. He is allowed arod children ut can't be left alone with them. And he only has to register for 20 years and his crime is not public record, it not on the registry.

Without knowing the state I can neither agree or disagree with you about this. Each state law varies in the way the classify a level. I was and am still, only citing my knowledge of the law. Note please that I said possibly or probably for much of my original response. Sorry, I can't debate it with you without knowing specifics. I stand by my response :D
If you are seeking more information about your friend I suggest you ask him to explain his probationary conditions in more detail.

If you know so much about this then why are you asking this question?

Let me see so you
A. didn't tell us the state
B. didn't let us know he was a level one only and it was 'only two pictures'
C. That he is convicted as a felon but will not have to follow the things we posted.
D. yet said he would have 28 conditions for his probabtion
E. Now are shooting down all the conditions we can come up to that pertain to 'sexual preditator.
So if none of what we told you applies then I have NO idea what other conditions could possibly apply since we gave you some of the MOST basic conditions for most offenders.
When you have the list it would be most interesting if you could post it for us so we know for if somebody else asks.

It seems to me that the OP already has the answers but is asking the question anyway.
If you already know all the answers then why ask the question?
You've made it very clear that you don't want opinion, you want to argue, defend what you believe.
You didn't give a lot of information, yet every time someone answers you say they're incorrect.
If you know so much then enlighten us, it will help us be better prepared for the next person that asks a similar question to yours.

That will depend on the judge, the probation officer and the laws of your particular jurisdiction. I can make an educated guess as to a few of them: no brushes with the law of any sort (porn or otherwise), remain steadily employed, no travel outside the jurisdiction (i.e. county/state) without permission from the P.O. Do make sure that he clears up all questions from the get-go and strictly adheres to all of the terms and conditions of his probation.

Well most conditions of probation are the same in every state. Only a selected few vary. He lives in the state of New York but in the suburbs. He was facing 11 counts of possession of child porngrahpy, however he only pled guilty to one felony count of it. I did tell you some information like he would be a level one sex offender. He is in a low risk category, unlikely to repeat the same offense again. He is not a predator, molestor or pedophile. He would never touch a child. Given that information, do you know what 28 confitions he will have to follow? Besides the ones I listed already

11 counts but he only had two pictures of kids
He had to have had 9 or 10 other things to do with child pornography to come up with 11 counts. So either you aren't saying or he isn't telling you the whole story.
In your original post you say
1 he can't be alone with minors,
2 can't be on any social networking or dating websites,
3 a curfew of 10pm,
4 he can't go to any bars o strip clubs,
5 he must report to probation and
6 they are allowed to search his room in his house at anytime.
So that leaves you with 22 to go yet
You disagree with the ones we posted
To make it easier on us could you please go through and list any that we came up with that could be on his list to make it easier on us?

Closed, OP does not appear to really want answers
