I'm currently 18 years old, my father passed away in 1997 from a heart attack. My mother has never told me anything about any money that was left behind for me or gave me any I information about what was in his will. A few months ago, I came across an email she had written to a worker at the company morgan stanley. It said in summary that there had been an error, my daughter can not access this account until she is 18. It had the complete account number in it, I wrote everything down. I'm not exactly sure what this could be. From what I understand, it could be a trust fund set up for me from my father. I do know that my father had changed his will when him and my mother divorced and handed everything over to my uncle to spite my mom. I doubt she would have to be involved in this at all, however if my uncle is he died a month ago and I don't know how that would affect this. I've read about trust funds, it sounds like I would need to get a lawyer and go to court, but I don't understand that if the moneys in my name. I'm not an 18 year old looking to blow money, I have a serious situation and if there is money in an account it could change my entire life. I need to know what I have to do, how I access that accont, what I need to take to the company, everything that will be helpful so I'm prepared for what's coming. Please only answer if you really know and can give detailed description what I have to do. Thank you so much I appreciate any help.

Have you asked your mom about the will or how to get a copy of it ?
