How do I determine the size of my circuit panel. I want to add a 30amp plug socket for my RV hookup.

Do you have an open breaker slot in your current panel? If so you can install a 30 amp breaker of the same brand as the panel or existing breakers. However, you must run at least a 10 gauge wire or cable to your RV receptacle. Wire sizes, gauges, for breakers (http://www.greatinspector.com/faq-elec-wiresize.html)

To learn this, assuming you mean the amp rating:
how do I determine the size of my circuit panel.
Find the Main Breaker or fuse that protects the panel, that will be the ampacity rating of that panel.

To further clarify tk's response:
1. For the main breaker to be the capacity of the panel, it must be a main panel. If it's a sub-panel, the answer above may not apply.
2. The numbers written on the breakers DO NOT have to sum to less than the main breaker rating.
