I live in Ohio and am now on a month to month lease. Been a tenant for ten years here and received a rental increase notice on the 15th of July for rent due on July 25th. Isn't there and kind of prior notice necessary or can landlord bump the rent this close to due date. 30 day notice, something?

Yes they have to give 30 day written notice.
