Hi, My daughter 3 year old daughter has tone tone in her face and speech delay. Im so worried because everyone tells me something else. Speech therapist tell me she apraxic and or mental retardation. My ot tells me sh isn't apraxic. Is their someone else like my daughter? Will she get better? Im starting to go crazy. This is all I think about. Wendy

The speech therapist has no right to access mental retardation... My son had low tone, with a tongue thrust issue as well as a delay. Speech therapy works, stick with it. Furthermore you can request early intervention to do another assessment of her needs.. by the way you cannot tell my son had any problems.
Has your daughter reached all her milestones?

She is not talking at all? Have you had her hearing checked? I would believe the specialists. I would also find an pediatric ENT and get her hearing checked?

I had her hearing checked. She is perfect. My speech therapist think she apraxic my ot says she's not. My developmental ped said she's has a delay. She has about 10-20 words, but she doesn't use them, unless we say, say it. I really want to know if she will be OK or is she mentally retarded.

You should take her to a child psychologist and have an intelligence (IQ) test given.
