I'm new to this great site! Thank you in advance for any help. I am installing a new lighting fixture in my kitchen. When I removed the previous unit from the ceiling, I found only two wires and two wire connectors. One black and one white. In the NEW fixture, there is a black and a white connector as well as a copper ground connector. However, there is no wire in the ceiling to marry it to. Is it okay to remove the copper grounding connector from the lighting fixture and simply not use it? It is easily removable.
Thank you again for your help!
